Cloning my 2 Tera disk to 4 Tera disk using Acronis True image 2018 cloning tool: questions

Thread needs solution

Bonjour

I am using Acronis True image 2018 and i want to clone one of my 2 tera  data disk ( software and data not system in 3 NTFS partitions) to a new 4 Tera hard drive using the  cloning tool

. I know that my 4 Tera  hd will have 3 partitions  in GPT type

Questions:

My system SSD is booting in Windows 10 pro 64 bits and it has an NTFS type and my motherboard Gygabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H has 3 options for Bios mode : UEFI and Legacy (that where is set for now), UEFI ,Legacy

Can this bios and system disk will read my new 4 Tera GPT partitions HD ?

i have also another hd with 1 NTFS partition . Can this hd will continue to be read?

Thanks

You will have no issues with the 4TB GPT drive the Windows 10 supports them. The BIOS/UEFI is not an issue. I have an 8TB HDD on one of my systems and it causes no problems. My recollection is that all Windows versions going back to 7 SP 1 support GPT disks.

I suspect when you clone the disk it will ask if you want to use GPT rather than MBR (I assume the 2 TB disk uses MBR). It is also possible to configure the new size of each partition during the cloning. However I find it easier to do so after the clone using the free MiniTool partition manager.

If you choose the Automatic clone method your partitions will be resized to the 4TB disk.  GPT format scheme will also be carried over.  Your system will read the 4TB disk without issue.

Thanks for your reply

Just another one:

Ok , i can boot with my SSD and access to my new 4 Tera GPT patitions

But can i still acces to my other Hd with a NTFS partition ?

Yes you can, NTFS is what File system you use whereas GPT is the disk Format Scheme for the NTFS file system.
