Delete Entirely deleting multiple backup files

Thread needs solution

I'm using ATI 2018 build 15470 w Windows 10

When I delete an archive by going to Delete>Delete entirely ATI deletes the intended backup and other backups. Sometimes the unintended deleted backups are in the same folder as the backup I want to delete and sometimes they are in a different folder. The tib files were created in 2005.

How can I stop this from occurring? How can I restore backups that were unintentionally deleted?

If incorrect backups are being deleted then this suggests that information about backups stored in the tracking database used by ATI 2018 has become muddled or corrupted, which can occur if backup files are deleted outside of ATI using Explorer etc.

Once files have been deleted, then unless you have other copies of the same files, you would need to use a file recovery application to get them back, assuming that no part of the file(s) have been overwritten on disk by other activities happening in Windows.

I would recommend that you try to use separate folders for different backup tasks or sources, or else ensure that every backup has a unique name and that nothing is deleted outside of the options provided by ATI using automatic cleanup or deleting tasks completely.

For the Acronis database issue, you should follow the steps given in KB 60915: Acronis True Image: repairing program settings - to force a rebuild of the database so that this reflects the available existing backup files.

I also recommend having separate directories/sub-directories for each backup task. It greatly simplifies backup management.
