Disk Backup Options
Greetings - I have an issue with Acronis 2018 remembering my backup preferences. It used to remember to perform backups using the Version Chain Scheme with Validation on the Advanced tab set to "Validate backup when it is created". Within the last week or so it has changed to a Custom Scheme of making a Full backup after 5 Incremental backups. This backup is scheduled every day at the same time. The last time things happened as desired/expected was 11/12/19, when a Full backup was created. It's also the first date I received a message about "(xxx) GB was freed up". Actually, the next day (11/13/19) a differential backup was created, which is part of the Version Chain I set up. It also, though, had a note about "(xxx) MB freed up". Not sure if this "freed up" thing is relevant, but it is different, and so I include it for your information. Starting 11/14/19, everything starting going haywire. There were three backups on that day within hours of each other (2 Incrementals and a Full.) From that day until today, the software insists on using this Custom Scheme, even if I try and reset it to the Version Chain and then immediately perform a backup. Can anyone tell me what the heck is happening and how I can rectify the situation? I really like the Version Chain Scheme and have a lot of bad experiences restoring from a list of Incrementals. One Full and the latest Differential is what I prefer. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
