Disk Full- Delete files

Thread needs solution

I have 2018, and have searched the forums without the exact answer I am looking for. I could not complete the last back up because there was insufficient disk space. I went to settings to reduce the number of backups saved, but I understand the I can not delete the files manually, and Acronis needs to complete a full back up before the new setting with reduced backups can take effect. How can I get rid of some of the files so that I have sufficient disc space to run future backups?

Rick, if you have Acronis Active Protection enabled / turned on, then you will need to disable / turn it off before attempting to delete any .tib files.

If you delete files using Explorer, then it is recommended to perform a Validation for the backup task that created those deleted files in order to reconcile the information that ATI keeps about all files in its internal database.

Thanks, Steve. I am not quite sure what you mean. How do I create a validation on a "backup task that created those files?" I have validated backups, but not on what you mention, is that the same thing....that is validating a back up after I delete the files? .

Rick.

Rick, if you have a backup task shown in the ATI GUI that is failing due to lack of disk space, then to the right of the task name, there is a caret (v) to show a drop-down menu which then has a validation option.
