Does Not Validate Existing Backups on Command

Thread needs solution

I right-clicked on a recently created backup and selected the "Validate" option. ATIH 2018 opened with the validate progress bar at the bottom and the word "Queued" appeared. Twenty minutes later, it was still in queued mode on the idle machine with no other applications running. Task manager is averaging 1-3% with no other unusual circumstances. I have repeated the process several times with the same results. The workstation has successfully validated files for several years in the past. This is Build 15470.

RWT, I have not seen any other reports in the forums of validation tasks being queued in the way that you describe.

I would suggest a couple of options for this situation:

Do a system restart and see if that clears the issue and allows any validation to complete.

Download / run the Acronis Scheduler Manager and use this to clear all scheduled tasks by issuing the 'task zap' command in the black window that is shown.
Note: this will clear all Acronis scheduled tasks, so if you have scheduled backups setup, you will need to reset the schedule for these afterwards.  The Scheduler Manager documentation shows other options / commands that can be used as needed.

Steve, I notice that you often suggest using the task zap command in the ASM. I've never used the command, but doesn't this delete the tasks entirely? What happens after that when you start the UI? Is it clear or are the backup tasks still there, just not scheduled?

It might be useful to see if one of the tasks is running, thus preventing the validate from starting right away.

Bruno, task zap only removes the scheduling for tasks, not the tasks themselves, hence my advice to reset any required schedules where needed.

Thanks for the clarification.

Still, might be worth for RWT to use the Log Viewer to check the Schedul2 logs to see if some task is running.

The Schedul2 logs are pretty cryptic and hard to read, plus ideally you need the output from the Scheduler Manager 'get list' command to be able to relate the task identifiers with the actual task scripts listed in the Scripts folder.
