During recovery process of a DELL precision T5820 no USB devices are recognised

Thread needs solution

Hello, I made a fully backup of a DELL precision T5810 with Acronis true Image 2018 and wanted to recover it on a DELL T5820. An USB mouse and Keyboard is connected and works as long as I select "Acronis true Image". Then Acronis starts.... and when the menue-screen is displayed with the menue entries "backup, recovery, home,..." no input with keyboard and mouse ís pssible, nor with PS2 devices.

Does anybody know a solution for this Problem?

Thx Karin

I would try a wired keyboard/mouse as the quick fix.

Otherwise, it's likely the USB controller for that system does not have drivers for the default busybox version of Linux that the regular Acronis rescue media uses.

To get around this, build WinPE or WinRE rescue media directly in Acronis.  WinRE should be available without needing to download or anything extra and will include your system drivers by default.  If your Windows recovery environment is broken, or non existent (some people delete these paritions to make more room), then you would need to download and install the Windows 10 1809 ADK (6GB), install it and then you can create WinPE rescue media instead.

The MVP custom rescue media builder builds off of what Acronis does natively and also offers options to build custom rescue media with your system WinRE or installed Windows ADK.  I'd encourage you to check it out as it has a much more user friendly interface than basic WinPE / WinRE rescue media.
