Edited and saved Excel files not included in nonstop backup

Thread needs solution

I am trying to set up nonstop backup for backing up Excel files after editing and saving the files, and there is two problems:

  1. Frequently backup entries are not created when saving files
  2. In some backup entries, which are created, the edited and saved files are not included.

The backup source is subdirectories and files in a specified directory.

The destination is a directory on an USB hdd.

As i understand it files changed and saved are supposed to be backed up if they are saved more than five minutes after last backup entry. This should make it possible to create a file history, which kan used to step backwards until a stabile file version i reached.

Is this possible, and how do i set up TI to perform this way?

Martin, welcome to these User Forums.

There can be difficulties with backing up Microsoft application files for such as Excel and other products due to the way that changes are stored in memory and not necessarily flushed fully to disk when saving if not also closing the application.

I do not use Non Stop Backup personally (as have no real need for this feature) so cannot advise on your questions in this area about file history using NSB.
