Freeze on Windows 10 1709

Thread needs solution

Hello Community, I'm new to this thing. I've never use Acronis true image before, but when i did it make me really frustrated. i have my laptop running windows 10 1709 and i want to back it up but for unknown reason it always freeze every time i back up with bootable media. I've tried several PCs of my friend and it's all the same.

I suspect that it's because of the latest version of windows 10 has something to do with it as i never have such a problem with older version of windows 10.

One possibility is that the backup media is corrupted. Are you using the default recovery media, or an alternative (advanced or Linux). Am I correct in assuming that Windows 10 1709 is the Fall Creator build? If so did you update from an earlier build? (Not sure that it is relevant; however when I updated the process corrupted my Windows installation - home group gone, many programs failed to work - used Acronis recovery media to go back to position before I upgraded).

The Linux recovery media will not work if you have unsupported hardware - hardware that requires proprietary drivers which cannot be included in Linux distros. If it is Windows you need to make sure that you have correct drivers - many PCs ship with SATA mode set to RAID so you need the necessary drivers (although they are included in the default recover media). Also make sure that you select UEFI mode when doing the recovery (rather than Legacy Mode) if your system is UEFI rather than BIOS.

BISO/UEFI setting can make recovery difficult - you need to make sure that fast boot is disabled and that secure boot is not enabled. This morning when I did my recovery I discovered that my Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming 5 does not allow you to select boot devices when booting (I am sure that it was supported in earlier BIOS versions) so I had to boot with the recovery media installed, enter bios and select the USB stick as the first boot device).
