frustrated, is this normal behavior of the program

Thread needs solution

i had a trial of 2017 then bought the box and then after a month i upgraded to 2018

are these problems or normal behaviors:

 

backups say they are queued but nothing else is running and i dont have the idle setting checkboxed.

when i go to cancel one of  the backups that i think arent working, it says processing and hangs forever. i have to reboot the machine

even though this was a one time purchase, i sometimes have the window pop up that i need to activate this. do i need the internet to be able to use this product. why doesnt the registration 'keep set'

it says backup not scheduled on the backup screen yet since the beginning i've had schedules for all backup. so some of these arent even running.

im actually thinking of just taking my box out and installing 2017 again. i dont think i had these issues then. and i know there are more issues but this is all i can remember now

also i notice some backups say VSS And some are VSS no writers and i never changed that. what should the setting be

 

yesterday i successfully ran a backup of 156 MB of pictures. it said it was completed in 2 minutes. nothing has changed in that folder since yesterday

about 20 min ago i tried to do a manual backup of it again. it says backing up but its not backing up. nothing is being sent to the drive. and since nothing changed shouldnt it just have been done checking that in a few seconds?when i hit stop it says processing and it hangs a long time
