General questions about license activation and best practice
Hello,
I have been using Acronis True Image for many years now, but changed to a competitors product because of simple offline activation, but I'm not that satisfied with the other software. I'm planning to use Acronis True Image again as a backup concept for a small customer. The situation is as follow:
The mentioned customer is running approx. 20 Windows 7 Prof. computers in a separate network. The clients are all offline, there is just one dedicated Remote-Service PC from where I can connect through VPN only to the 20 computers. My plan would be to install a NAS there, install Acronis True Image on the clients, setup a backup schedule and let Acronis do the backup full automatic to the NAS. The dedicated Remote-Service computer is under my control, so I could open Firewall-Ports or maybe IP addresses to activation servers if necessary.
So my question would be: Is it possible to offline install and activate Acronis True Image (2018) on these computers? If not, can the Remote-Service PC be used as activation Server or license Server?
Please post your experience.
Thank you!
Holger

Hello Renata,
thank you for your reply on this. Yes, the machines are allowed to communicate with each other, so I'm considering giving Backup Standard a chance.

I would also recommend to trial it first as it has more functions than Acronis True Image and different interface. So it would be easier to get used to the product before purchase and understand if it fulfils all the needs you have for a backup solution.
