How to erase Activity

Thread needs solution

I assume the Activity report in 2018 just keeps on recording activity. Does anyone know if there is a facility to erase it? When one gets to the end of a backup run and starts a new one with the same settings, does the Activity report just keep on going?

As far as I understand, Activity will be recorded for each independent backup task you have configured in the main ATI GUI, and this will continue while the task exists.

There is no particular method to erase this Activity detail, other than the obvious one of deleting the task from the GUI, or less obvious, of using the option to 'Clone settings' which will configure a new task using the same configuration and name (prefixed by (1) ).

Thanks Steve. Clone settings then delete the original task(s) seems to be the way forward where the activity recording starts afresh.

I was also thinking along the lines of using Import Settings from saved Settings after deleting the original tasks. Don't know whether this would work until I start a new set of backup tasks on a blank backup screen.

If you use the new options to Save your task settings then import them again after deleting the tasks, you would lose any Activity information as that is not part of the data being saved.

I have found that after removing tasks and importing saved settings, the activity returns along with the settings. So cloning settings is the only way to get rid of the activity. Saving the settings is good in case of loss.

Of course there would be no activity in saved settings of newly created tasks. The task settings I had saved were as a result of saving them when the last update came through in the middle of my current backups.
