I am really confused about the licensing arrangement.

Thread needs solution

I have purchases every upgrade since True Image 11.  These were perpetual licenses.
That's at lease 7 purchases since 2011.  My last upgrade with 29.95 for 2018.

Now I have purchased a second win 10 machine and there is an offer for 29.95 for an upgrade from an earlier license.

But next to the 1 machine upgrade is a 3 machine price.  Since I just spent 30 bucks on the existing machine and have only 1 additional pc, it seems illogical that I should pay again for the former one and for a third which does not exist?

Since all my purchases were for a perpetual license and I have no interest in a subscription or cloud usage, I have no idea as to whether all the former purchases are invalid; using an earlier serial number on a 2nd machine.  One is suppose to produce a serial number(s) for a previous, of which I have many, but I can imagine buying an upgrade at 29.95 and having all the serial numbers rejected.

I tried to install 2017 on the machine and it said that the license installs had been used up.  There were in fact many installs in 2016, due to software problems that were fixed in 2018.  So I have no idea what that's about.

I just want to add a perpetual license for a 2nd stand alone home machine but the whole thing is becoming an exercise in frustration.

Acronis sells licences as single licence, 3 unit licence and 5 unit licence. As I understand it you can upgrade from single user to 3 or 5 user and from a 3 unit to 5 unit licence. The upgrade can be from the same version of ATI or from an earlier version to the current version of ATI.

Am I correct in understanding is that you only need a second licence and there is no at to do that by an upgrade. I suspect you will find that upgrading to 3 unit licence will be cheaper than buying a second full licence.

Acronis are currently offering 40% off (in Australia) on 3 and 5 licence subscription, which is not what you want. I suggest you do a regular check on your local Acronis site as there are frequently special deals, both upgrade and full version. A month or so back they were about 50% off in Australia and elsewhere.
