I can't select a destination disk on new laptops

Thread needs solution

I have 10 brand new HP laptops with 512GB SSD that I have to set up for work.

When I boot Acronis I do the following:

- Recover (My Disks)
- Removeable Drive (E:) - this is where the file is stored
- Recover whole disks and partitions
- Select all of Disk 2

Then on the 'Select destination of Disk 2' screen, Disk 1 is the only option and it is grayed out. I would like to know if I am doing anything wrong, and how I can install it onto the laptops' SSD.

Brandon, sorry but more information is needed to understand this issue?

What version of ATI are you using here?  Is it ATI 2018 as per this forum, or something else?

How are you attempting to do the disk recovery?  Is this using Acronis bootable Rescue Media or starting from within Windows?

If using Acronis Rescue Media, what type of media is this?

For the ATI 2018 & later version rescue media, there are 3 different versions available:
Simple:  created based on your Windows Recovery Environment for WinPE media.
Advanced: created based on Windows ADK (or AIK for earlier OS versions) - WinPE media.
Advanced: created based on a small Linux distro OS (BusyBox) or created from the .ISO CD image download from your Acronis Account page.

What size of disk was the backup image created from, how much used space on that disk?

What type of disk was the backup create of?  Is this the same type of disk as in the new HP laptops?

What type of disk does the new HP laptops have?  SATA, NVMe M.2 ??

Do the new HP laptops already have an installed Windows OS?
