I have used the uninstall tool but it remains lots of register data. What I have to delete, please?

Thread needs solution

HEllo, I have try to delete all the data, but Windows was not able to start...I had to use the image backup.

So I'm scared to delete the wrong data.

I have uploaded the REVO diary file with all the REVO data installed on my computer. You have to change"jpg" by "html" (because I can't upload html with this forum).

Thx for the help!

Vince, welcome to these public User Forums.

First comment is that you should not be using a third-party tool to remove Acronis registry entries for exactly the reason you encountered with rendering the system unbootable if an incorrect change is made!

Please download the Acronis Cleanup Tool from the link in my signature and use this to do the cleanup actions.  Note: this should only be used AFTER doing a normal uninstall of the Acronis application via the Windows Control Panel > Programs & Features application.

Hello,

Thx for the answer.

I have used the normal installation and the acronis cleanup tool. But, some datas remain.

What data are you saying is still remaining and did you restart the computer after using the Acronis Cleanup tool.

Whenever I uninstall a program from my PC, I do the following...

1. Run a Windows search for a so-called uninstalled program and delete the leftover files and folders.

2. Run Windows' "regedit.exe" in Administrative mode and backup the registry to Desktop.

3. Then I use the fabulous "Registrar Registry Manager" app (from Resplendence. The Home edition is freeware with no ads and works perfectly) to search for all footprints of the uninstalled program, searching by name of the publisher as well as by name of the software as they are often different. The utility displays all the data at once, which you can highlight and delete in one click.

But be warned that if the name of the software you uninstalled is not unique then you may inadvertently delete a registry key that belongs to another program. For instance, deleting AVG antivirus will also delete AVGeneral that belongs to Adobe. In such instances, you will need to look at each item. Acronis is a unique name, so you can safely delete all such related entries from the registry. If you do experience a problem, simply click on the *.reg file you save in Desktop to restore the registry.

In this manner, your registry never gets sluggish due to a bloated registry.
