Image Storing

Thread needs solution

Is it normal for images taken with ATI to be stored in one single file? Is this the same for MAC and PC?

Thank You

When you ask about images, what exactly are you referring to here?

An ATI backup of your Disk & Partitions or of your Files & Folders (pictures, documents etc) will always be created using a backup archive file with a .TIB file extension.  This is unique to Acronis and is a container file similar to a Zip archive, and depending on your backup settings and destination file system, will normally be a single file.

The ATI .TIB file format is the same for both PC & MAC versions of the program but there are some other differences that mean these files are not interchangeable, i.e. a PC .tib file is only valid with the PC program.

Yes, images are stored as one file. But you can view and access the directory in a *.tib file (all the files and folders inside the image file):

1. Launch Acronis > Backup tab.

2. Right-click on the backup (in "This computer" column, next to "Backup")  > Open location > double-click on the *.tib file > double-click on drive letter > keep double-clicking to expand the directory to access the sub-folders and files..

You can do the same faster in Win or File Explorer. From "View" drop-down menu, choose "Details" that will better identify the items. To obtain a file or folder, right-click on an item > Copy > paste in, say, Desktop.

Hope this helps.
