Local copies of backups from a nas cannot be opened without access to nas???

Thread needs solution

Hi,
out of some reasons one (only one out of two!) daily backup task suddenly struggled with access to my qnap nas with login problems.
So I did copy the backup files to a local volume and did add this local existing backup in Acronis True image 2018 list of backups. Then I wanted to open it and restore some data. But surprisingly the tool did also struggle with access to the nas despite the fact that the file is local.
My question is now not about the login problems (may be this will become another thread). My main problem is now that Acronis HAS TO BE ABLE to access local backups, even if they had been created formerly on a nas!
So, what can I do to open this backups?
Regards
GB

Gotz, welcome to these public User Forums.

Did you rename the copied backups on the local volume?

Is the original backup task for those backups shown in the ATI GUI list of tasks?

If you have just added in the copied backups to the original task, then this still knows about the connection to your NAS.

If you rename the copied backups to have a unique name (not already used in the ATI GUI) then using the 'Add existing backup' for the most recent of those files, will create a new task in the GUI using the new name from the file, and should not have any connection to the original NAS location.
