Logitech Unifying Receiver doesn't work in Recovery CD
Hi,
Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse connected using Logitech Unifying Receiver doesn't work under ATIH 2018 Recovery CD build 9027. No issues with wired USB keyboard/mouse.
No issues with ATIH 2017 Recovery CD build 8058 (and earlier) too.
Recovery CDs had such issues in the past though, where certain builds had support of Unifying Receiver broken.
Acronis, fix it in next Recovery CD build, please. Thanks.

I'm talking about Linux-based Recovery CD downloadable from Acronis as ISO file (AcronisTrueImage2018.iso). I'm not talking about ATIH 2018 running in WinPE/WinRE environment.

Numerous issues have been reported with the Linux recovery media for ATI 2018. I suggest creating a support case and providing feedback through ATI 2018. You can continue to use the ATI 2017 recovery media in the meantime.

Yeah, the Linux media which you download from your account may well lack support for these devices. The Acronis product is moving away from the Linux based media of the past. It is best you create a WinPE/WinRE version for use to gain the driver support needed.

Note that Unifying receiver is basically visible to OS as generic keyboard/mouse via an USB hub. It might be very well that internal hub is causing trouble. As mentioned, in the past it already happened that certain Recovery CD builds for older ATIH versions had support for it broken, then fixed in subsequent build. So I just wanted Acronis to be aware that they broke it again. I'll log a case.
Recovery CD is readily available (download/burn/boot) and has 'out of the box' vast device support (like Linux does in general) while WinPE/WinRE needs some time/effort and advanced knowledge to build it, especially if you need to add specific drivers to it.
Eg. in my case I need Intel RST RAID controller driver and Realtek LAN + Intel i350 LAN driver at minimum which needs specific drivers (RST RAID not supported by Windows 7 out of the box, nor any other Windows version hence must be manually added to WinPE Acronis image). Linux Recovery CD supports all these devices out of the box. So building WinPE with specific HW drivers just to support extremely popular Logitech wireless keyboards/mouses (supported out of the box by Windows as generic keyboard/mouse) is a bit of an overkill. So I don't think it was deeply thought decision to move away form Linux Recovery CD in future (if that's really true).
