No access to archived tia files

Thread needs solution

I am having difficulty opening my archived tia files. I archived 720GB of video footage using the Archive option in ATM 2018.The files are stored on an external drive. The tia files are meant to be accessible in Finder but when I open Acronis Drive in Finder they do not show up neither do they appear in the Archive section of ATM. The files are however visible on the external drive. If I try and open the files on the drive I am told that my Mac does not have a program installed that can open tia files. The Acronis helpdesk suggested that I drag the tia files from the external drive back into the Archive section of ATM. If I try this ATM warns against doing this.

The weird thing is when I first archived the files they did show up in Finder!

My question is how do I regain access to my archived tia files?

Glen, welcome to these public User Forums.

Not sure if you are using a new product here 'Acronis True Magic 2018' as these forums are for Acronis True Image?

Unfortunately the majority of users (including myself) in this forum are Windows users, not Mac, so not really in a position to help you with this issue.

You could try posting in the dedicated Acronis True Image for Mac Forum to see if other Mac users can offer any help or suggestions etc, otherwise, you will need to engage directly with Acronis Support to try to find a resolution to this issue.

Hello Glen39,

I'd recommend installing a free trial of Acronis True Image 2019 on your Mac and checking if you can retrieve the data from the archive using this product. If still no joy, you'll have grace support within the trial period and can open a support ticket, so that our engineers can help you.
