Thread needs solution

Every time I try to validate one of my backups, I get this error message.

Needless to say, it is a complete nonsense. None of my disks are marked with anything, and this gives me no clues at all about what it thinks is missing. All of the disks and files are readily available through Windows Explorer.

If I click Retry, it immediately pops up again; if I click Cancel, it just closes and marks the validation as failed; if I click Browse, it lets me navigate to the backup I am trying to validate, but the same message then pops up a few minutes later.

Zero marks to Acronis for a particularly unhelpful error message. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?

Daniel, welcome to these public User Forums.

Please can you post a screen shot or file listing of the files created by the backup task you are trying to validate.

The message you are seeing would be more appropriate for a backup that was made to optical media, i.e. CD or DVD media where you would have multiple different volumes.

If you have created such backups to optical media in the past, then it is possible that you have reused the same task name which is being 'remembered' in the internal Acronis Database and causing the error message!
