Problems with True Image 2018

Thread needs solution

Hi,

just installed True Image 2018 Demo on my Notebook. I already have a 2014 Version which was ok for my purpose, but it won´t work with Win10.

I tried to backup both partitions of my hdd to an external hdd.

Problem is that i can´t use complete PC-backup because the hdd has already 2 partitions from a complete backup i did with V2014 some years ago. So i quickformatted both partitions and backup the first partition. So far so good. Then i backuped the second partition. Now partition one was empty. I suspected that i made a mistake and backuped again partition one. Now i have a backup from this partition, but the second partition is empty again.

Is that an issue with the trial version? I rather would just clone the drive, but this is disabled in the trial.

I would buy the program, but i need to know if that works.

Also i don´t understand the models, what i understand is that i only got a "standard" version, except i buy the subscription version. Is that so?

Re Bo, welcome to these User Forums.

I think that you may be misunderstanding the difference between doing a Backup versus using Cloning as the number of partitions on the HDD should not make any difference to the backup process.

Please see KB topic: 1540: Difference between Backup and Disk Clone which has a good explanation of the differences between these two Acronis functions.  Note: the video tutorial in the KB is based on ATI 2016 but the principle of the tutorial remains the same for the 2018 version.

With regards to the different ATI 2018 version / models - the Standard version is a perpetual license which means that once you have purchased / activated this version, then you can continue to use the software for as long as it will continue to work correctly with your installed version of Windows OS.

The other versions of ATI 2018 are subscription versions where the software only continues to work while the subscription is active, but you also get free upgrades to future new versions plus have continued access to Acronis Support for the current and future versions.  The downside to subscription versions is that they stop working 30 days after you terminate or let the subscription lapse.  Subscription versions also come with a set amount of Acronis Cloud storage for holding backup images - the storage amount depends on the subscription cost paid.
