rescue media builder bootable disk .

Thread needs solution

I started my comp from the bootable disk to see if it worked. It lead me OK to the rescue package. I clicked on recovery  but as I didn't intend to recover i used the back arrows to "home". There wasn't any cancel button  so I closed with right corner "x" and closed the Linux command prompt.

After that I could neither continue to start or close. I had to force close.

When I started again, an automatic check disk started a very very long repair.

How can I close the the rescue package without causing this repair.

Help, please.

Normally, when you close the main Acronis offline application in the rescue media, it should automatically trigger a restart of the computer, where if you want to actually shutdown you need to power off when you see it return to the initial BIOS boot display.

The alternative is to create the MVP Custom PE Builder version of the rescue media which has both Shutdown and Restart icons in the system tray  area of the media.  See link in my signature.

I didn't want to shut down, the problem was that when I closed the rescue package with the upper right "X' and then the linux command window, it didn't go anywhere, it didn't return to the Bios display it just froze whith a big circled H in the screen.

Did I undestand right that I should have closed by clicking the "A" icon at the bottom of the rescue media?

Please advise.

Thanks for answering.

What option did you use to create the rescue media?  Was it the 'Simple' or 'Advanced' option?

The reason for asking is that the Linux media does not show a Linux command window!
See first zip file below.

With the 'Simple' WinPE (WinRE) rescue media, just closing the ATI and Command Windows should cause a reboot automatically.
See second zip file below.

The alternative method for WinPE media is to use the command: wpeutil shutdown in the command window to do a shutdown.
See third zip file below.

I mistakenly called the command window a LInux window (a wrong assumption om my part).

I used the simple option.

What I did was to close the ATI rescue window and then the command window that was visible.

May be there was some way to close the ATI window that I missed.

Sorry, I cannot explain why the action of closing the ATI and command Windows did not result in the media attempting to do a restart.

The attached zip files in my last post demonstrated that both the Linux & WinPE (Simple) versions of my own ATI 2018 rescue media both triggered a restart of the Virtual Machine I used to confirm this behaviour tonight.
