retrieving .tib files created with ATI 2016 with new ATI 2018 ?

Thread needs solution

Hi there

I use ATI 2016 and instaleld it on another "old" computer.

I used this ATI 2016 to create Partition C .tib image on my NAS on a regulary basis.

I want to install ATI2018 on my computer now instaed of 2016 version

1) as of the installation should I desinsntall ATI 2016 prior to install ATI 2018 or can I just install ATI 2018 directly ?

2) will ATI 2018 recognize all of my .TIB files created with 2016 version ?

3) is there any possibility to save the "method" (files saved, source, frequency, destination(ie NAS) etc...) created with ATI 2016 and "install" it in ATI 2018 ?

Thanks for your help :)

Xavier, please see the following information from the ATI 2018 User Guide:

Upgrading from old versions of Acronis True Image

If your current version of Acronis True Image is Acronis True Image 2017 or Acronis True Image 2018, the new version will simply update it; there is no need to remove the old version and reinstall the software. If your current version is older, we recommend that you remove the current version, first.

See KB 1689: Backup archive compatibility across different product versions

When you do a normal uninstall of ATI 2016 this will leave behind the C:\ProgramData\Acronis folder structure which contains the information about your current backup tasks & settings, so this should be picked up by ATI 2018 after being installed.  You could make a copy of this folder path to another location then copy it back again before running ATI 2018 if you wanted to safeguard against any settings being lost.  Note: backup schedule data is not normally saved in these folders so will probably need to be set again, so make a note of what your current schedules are before starting.
