TI2018 - Backup set sequence number simply changed by almost 400, mid-set!

Thread needs solution

I've been using essentially the same backup options for several years and never had a situation like this before.  This particular backup runs every night, overnight.  A new full backup is created after 6 incremental backups and the new set takes the next higher sequence number, in this case backup set #80 encountered a unique glitch.  The full backup starts with Drive-E-Daily_full_b80_s1_v1.tib and is followed by s2 and then s3 on 04/30/19.  However, on 05/01/19 the next incremental was Drive-E-Daily_inc_b451_s2_v1.tib and it was essentially the size of a full backup, almost 117GB.  Then on 05/02/19 a full backup was created named Drive-E-Daily_full_b452_s1_v1.tib and then after 6 incremental backups on 05/09/19 I see Drive-E-Daily_full_b453_s1_v1.tib.

What in hell could cause something like this?  Any ideas?  Any thoughts and how to restore the correct numbering scheme?  Thanks in advance

I will attach an image of the folder list and an image of the Disk backup options screen.

Sorry but very strange and I have no idea what might cause this to happen and none on how to get it back to the correct numbering sequence without starting a new backup task after removing the current one / using the clone settings option to carry over the task settings.  If doing this, then would recommend using a unique task name to avoid tripping over any stored information in the database from the old task, if present.

Thanks Steve, I suppose this will remain a mystery.

Steve, sorry to boither you, especially today but I'm stuck.

I need to restore my W10 C: drive as of 7/2/19.  My full backup was 6/27 and there have been 6 incrementals since that date.  I need my system restored as of the 7/2 backup.  When I try Recovery, I'm imformed that it can't find version 7, but the version 7 it wants is for set 160, not set 239 which is the most current.  Instructions on Acronis website don't seem to correlate to my TI2018, becauuse I can't choose which backup to select.

If I select the latest full backup will TI include all the incrementals?

I simply need my C: drive recovered as of the 7/2 incremental backup.  I'm at a loss and have been at this for hours.

P.S.  If I use the bootable version, and select the latest backup set, will the full backuo and all incrementasls be used for that recovery?

When doing a recovery from an Incremental backup version chain, you should just select the Incremental file that you want to recover from (7/2) and ATI will walk back through the chain to recover the other files that make up that chain back to the Full backup file that starts the incremental chain.

If you are using the Acronis boot media to do the recovery, then you should be able to ignore any error messages about missing versions provided all the files for the chain you want to recover from are present on the drive.

Thanks a bunch Steve, that helps a great deal.  Although I have used True Image to restore system disks and several other data disks over the years, I've never had to restore using incrementals from a point in time.  I have lots of experience recovering files, by mounting backups, but this was new to me.

Your help is very much appreciated.
