True Image and Multiple File Systems?

Thread needs solution

I want to create a drive image of a PC I recently built, however the boot disk is an eclectic mix of file systems.  Linux, Windows, and HFS.  If I use True Image will I be able to capture the disk as it currently exists in it's entirety, or am I only able to image the individual OSes independent of one another?

Mordac, welcome to these User Forums.

Please see the ATIH 2018 User Guide: Supported file systems which shows what file systems are supported by Acronis True Image where HFS is not listed as being included.

There is a note at the end of this section that states:

If a file system is not supported or is corrupted, Acronis True Image 2018 can copy data using a sector-by-sector approach.

The key issue with using a sector-by-sector approach is that the backup size will equal the size of the raw disk drive as all sectors are copied.

This may be a case where a hardware docking station solution may be more appropriate, i.e. a dual-bay docking station that you can insert the original drive and a second drive of equal size, then allow the firmware in the docking station to duplicate the drive.

I have an "ORICO Aluminium USB 3.0 to SATA Dual Bay Hard Drive Docking Station with Offline Clone Backup Function for 2.5 Inch & 3.5 Inch HDD SSD SATA I/ II/ III Supports UASP and 2 x 8 TB (SATA III 6Gb/s), Tool-free" that provides for an offline cloning solution independent of needing a PC to be connected.
