Unable to copy backups to another device

Thread needs solution

I have no problems with running backups both from whole partitions and from folders either to another inthern harddisk og an extern harddisk, but use the first one as this goes much faster. My plan is to copy the latest backup on the intern harddisk to an extern harddisk monthly, but here I have trouble

Spite I am logged in as administrator (only user) I beeing met with "can't copy - you must be adminstrator". Some of the files have been opended on the extern with zero data and I can't delete them either. I have tried to contact Microsoft, but they ask me to contact Acronis on this matter.

Every other copy between the intern harddisk and the extern goes without any ask or problem.

Please tell me how to fix the problem.

I am using True Image 2018 and win 10 pro.

LLars, the issue here is caused because you have Acronis Active Protection turned on and its whole purpose is to prevent changes to the Acronis backup files you are attempting to copy!

You will need to turn off AAP temporarily while you do the copy and then turn it on again when done.

KB 60190: Acronis True Image 2019 and 2018: how to disable Active Protection in Windows

Hi Steve,

Thank you very much. I am very happy for your solution. Now I think my 3 level backup finally will work. (Yes, I will certainly turn the protection on again).

Regards,

Llars
