Universal Restore not working
I have an image created from a Getac V110G2, i need to restore it over a Dell 5420 Rugged, but it doesnt work.
After restoring the image, when i boot universal restore, it does not recognize any OS (win10 in this scenario), so i cannot continue.
"cannot find any operating system on the current machine"
I tried all possible bios options including UEFI boot, legacy boot, disk set in raid mode, disk AHCI, secure boot on\off but nothing works.
Any hint\idea pls?
Thanks and regards!
Marco

They both have win10 64bit - 1909
Getac is older so uses Sata normal SSD's while new Dell has NvME SSd M.2
I tried lot of times, there is no way to make image boot on new Dells
I managed to get past the "cannot find any operating system on the current machine" issue but then universal restore do not find the proper drivers to continue and stops at 55% (but i provided all cab drivers inside the proper folder)

Marco, how do both these systems boot into Windows from the BIOS?
Are they both using UEFI or does the older Getac system use Legacy / MBR boot?
The new NVMe M.2 SSDs need to use UEFI / GPT and therefore if your backup from the Getac is Legacy / MBR, you need to restore it to the Dell when the rescue media is booted in UEFI mode so that the restored OS is migrated from Legacy to UEFI / GPT.
This also means that in the BIOS boot priority settings, the Dell needs to have 'Windows Boot Manager' as the boot device, not the actual M.2 SSD drive.

Hi, yes i already tried this, but no luck.
Yes the Getac uses Legacy MBR and Dell uses UEFI, i tried all the possible combinations including windows boot manager, but it doesn't work. systems are too different, this is why i tried universal restore.

Not sure if I mentioned it earlier, but you are using an old version of Universal Restore, the most recent version for ATI 2018 digital certificate is 25 Sept 2017. You may have better luck using the version that is available with ATI 2021. Not sure if universal restore works with trial version, but you can get an upgrade to 2021 for well under US$50 (single PC perpetual licence upgrade in Australia is only AU$39.99 which includes 10% GST).

See KB 2768: Trial version limitations of Acronis products which states clearly that AUR is not available with trial products.

Unfortunately the upgrade for Italy is 40€, too much for me and just for this feature is not worth the money, im still good with 2018. I will wait for some discount, who knows... maybe for black friday
But i'm a little disappointed, after all UEFI was already well implemented in 2018 and NVMe M.2 SSDs as well.

Unfortunately the Universal Restore is released just after ATI, and rarely (if ever) is updated during the version life cycle, so Sep 2017 is a long way back.
Acronis usually have good Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.
