Leonidas, I have not seen any other users reporting this type of issue in the forums as far as I can remember.

Are you opening the backup image .tib file directly in ATI 2018 or in Explorer?  That may make a difference to how names are shown but is not something I can test as all my systems are purely using UK English.

Unfortunately, if this is a new code issue with ATI 2018 then there is no support available from Acronis anymore.  Only the latest ACPHO subscription version is now supported - Acronis will not fix any issues found in older products such as True Image.

The Forum option to upload Files has been problematic for some months now and some users may be able to use it but lots more, including myself, have not!!

You can use the Imce File Manager option to embed images in your text post by clicking on the icon in between the Omega icon and YouTube icon, then selecting your image to be uploaded using that method.

You say,

”Are you opening the backup image .tib file directly in ATI 2018 or in Explorer?  That may make a difference to how names are shown but is not something I can test as all my systems are purely using UK English.“

I tried from Windows 10 File explorer… well?
What is the other way, to view files of a tib archive?

Open ATI 2018, select the backup task, then open the Recovery panel on the right.

See KB 60169: Acronis True Image 2018: how to restore files from a backup (Windows)

I have just done that - access from Acronis my backup files - but,

Again No Greek named Files or Directories having in the backup file tib,... using Acronis TI 2018 latest...

Well,... what to do...?

Can you tell us what you are seeing?

Is this a Disk/Partition, File/Folder or Entire PC backup?

Do English named files and folders show up correctly?

In ATI Settings, what is the Interface Language you have set up?

Yes, I can attach image, as i have taken screenshots, but here on forums i have problems attaching images or embed in post image or include a link to an public image... say links cannot be used...

Well,...?

Can send a message private...? i will try and this soon, and hope to work the image attached... now i am replying from mobile device...

Leonidas, if you want to share images using links then you will need to disguise the link by rendering it not clickable.

Example: http : \\ myimage.jpg

The images you shared via Yandex in your private message do not tell me anything new, the one from Explorer suggests that names may have been translated into English perhaps, but the one from ATI 2018 Recovery panel doesn't show you expanding the C: drive to show any contents it may hold which you need to expand to see if the names are preserved or not.

It seems that the Imce File Manager option to embed images is also broken now as is giving me an Ajax error when I try to use it!!

Additionally, How-To Activate Acronis TI 2018 [5 PCs] - HOW DEACTIVATE from other PCs - installed

Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office [3-PCs]

???

Have you tried using the Search box shown towards the top left side of your ATI 2018 Recovery panel images - you could start by searching initially for *.doc and then modify that search to include your Greek characters / names to check if this will work for you?

There is no direct method to deactivate any perpetual licensed versions of True Image - all you can do is move licenses to other / different PC's by following the process described in KB 59878: Acronis True Image 2018: "You've exceeded the maximum number of activations for this serial number" which deals with how to move your activation to a different computer.

See KB 69341: Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office subscription: "Too many activations" for the equivalent document for ACPHO

SO, THE BACKUP OF Laptop/Windows 10:/ Disk 0 [C:/, system partition, recovery partition] - must be gone well, as it is validated OK... correct????

Hello Lse.

Thanks for participating.

That depends where you store your backups, there are some limitations

Please check the KB referring to a similar issue: https://kb.acronis.com/content/57504

Please also check: https://kb.acronis.com/content/36429

  • Create shorter folder names (e.g., less than eight characters in a name) on the NAS. The product may fail to recognize longer folder names;

Please also check: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/fileio/naming-a-file?re…

Thanks in advance!

Lse, have you found any solution?

I'm seeing nothing obvious to explain what you are seeing. I know of no other reports of such a problem, nor do I know of experiences of others using Greek. Since it appears Greek is not one of the options for installing the Acronis app, I assume there has not been any serious testing in a Greek environment.

My only suggestion at this point is to perhaps go to the Time & Language section of Settings and look into the Region and Language pages to see if there is some setting which could change the behavior.

Also, in Control Panel, select Region and go to the Administrative tab. There is a section "Language for non-Unicode programs" which may be useful.

Do you have a system whereby you could run a trial version of ACPHO to see if the problem persists in the newer versions?
