Version Tree and continue increment chain on another hardware/hdd
1. Is any way to continue increment backup chain with another hard disk?
I just started to get acquainted with Acronis True Image.
I have windows 10 on virtual machine for generic image preparation: updates and fixes implements to it. After updates I save increment back up via ATI 2018 BootMedia. Later I can restore this backup chain to another machine.
Then I restore image to new machine & install drivers, next increment backup is too large. But was affected small group of files.
2. How ATI find differences? Check HDD Serial? Partition label or guid?
3. Can I build a version tree with few branches connected to start full backup?
As example:
Img0. - Full standart backup
Img0A0 - Increment backup with specific drivers (Ref to Img0)
Img0A1 - Increment backup with new soft configuration (Ref to Img0A1)
Img0B0 - Diffential backup with SysPreped image for deploying (Ref to Img0)
Img0C0 - Unique image with another specific configuration (Ref to Img0)

Hi, Steve.
Sorry for my English. I'll use short sentences. Maybe it will help to understand my minds.
It's old trick prepare windows on one machine (real or virtual) and later to restore on another.
In WinXP for different hardware support usually adds some variants of hal.dll to system32 folder and items with different params to bootmenu.
Windows 10 just work out of the box without any tunes. Big lib of compatible drivers works good.
re: It is also not possible to mix both incremental and differential backup image types in a single backup version chain.
I use BootMedia and backup, restore from DOS. I can't change diff and methods in on one chain, and as I understand its normal. But I can use full arc as point for mounting.
1. Boot from ATI Boot Media.
2. Create Full Bkp
3. Boot to Windows
4. Change any settings or install new software
5. Boot from ATI Boot Media.
6. Now I select full backup as base volume and select inc or diff method. (If I select inc, other backups will be incremental too)
7. Boot to windows
8. SysPrep it
9. Boot from ATI Boot Media.
10. Now I select full backup as base volume and select diff method.
As a result I have 3+ backups:
1. Base full arc
2. IncX (ref to base)
3. Diff (ref to base)
Is there any information how ATI check files on disks for exist in backup? ATI use serials of partition, hdd? it's remember disk size or location? If one file have a newer date will it binary comparing file on disk and file in backup?
And the last term. I can't open a Support Case, I haven't license. Russian Student ;-(

Xim, I understand your description of the process you are following and agree with the results that you can achieve by doing so.
Windows 10 is very much better at managing the differences found with different computer hardware, especially when compared with such as Windows XP.
Backups that you create using the Acronis bootable Rescue media does not write any information into the Acronis Database (used by the Windows ATI application), so it is possible to Add such full backup files to the ATI GUI and create new Incremental or Differential chains based on these files.
The only information about how Acronis works is found in the relevant ATI User Guide for the product version you are using. See the Acronis Product Documentation webpage where you can find online and downloadable (PDF) copies of the different user guides. You should be able to get this page to open in your native Russian language if that is easier for you to read.
Please also see KB 2768: Trial version limitations of Acronis products for the restrictions in using a trial version of Acronis products (assuming you are not using either an OEM product - supplied free with various hardware products, or using a pirated copy of an Acronis product).
