Which storage choose for a new project with VBR ?

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I am completely new to all of this and looking around for help. The volume of the backups are actually stored on a 8TB CS800 (incl dedup hardware + software) and the protocol used is CIFS (some VMs do some backups to the CS800 in NFS directly (dumps Oracle)).All the infrastructure is virtualized actually on vSphere 5.5.I see some post where the users say that they use simply a fat server with Windows Server 2012 installed and dedup enable on the share. Some others use special storage as Fujitsu CS800.
If you have any thoughts for storage choose Case study example for this problem, I'd love to hear them.
For you what's the best solution and which storage do you recommend ? .I went through many resources but did not find any solution for this issues. Please help me out.

Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you

Aaron,

Welcome to the Forums.  Your question is outside the scope of this Forum as it focuses on the Acronis True Image product which is aimed at the Consumer market.  Your question would probably be better suited and may get more response if posted in one of the Acronis Business Products forums of which the Backup 12.5 Forum handles the most current product.  Link HERE

One of my thoughts in line with your question is the use of the CIFS protocol is very outdated and poses a number of security risks which in my mind would suggest an upgrade to SMB 2.0/3.0  to address those concerns would be appropriate.
