Why no multi year licence for ATI?
so over the I have kept buying an upgrade license because enough changes each year to warrant the purchase but has become a too costly proposition on my part and while I know the company loves getting my money I want to have a multi year sub I can buy to help me minimize the yearly upgrade costs.
Also I dont understand the different plan options it looks the if I pay for a 1yr sub I get a free upgrade if so ATI 2019 comes out while I have the sub so its like rolling the dice to get the new version when it come out for free?
I guess as the year roll on and you get the sub it you will get the one free version upgrade for sure.

So it looks like for me that dont need acronis cloud backups my only options are for my 2 pcs which means I have get the 3 upgrade licenses for $59- to be covered and every year rebuy the new yearly version for $59- so even though I was hoping to buy for longer periods it wont work that way.

Well you may not need to rebuy anything each year if you have a perpetual licence, and you are happy how the program backups and restores your data.
Last time I bought ATI was 2010, worked well on windows 7, but only the release version worked on windows 10 .So this year I decided to upgrade again and got a special offer for three pc's form Acronis. Make sure that you are registered to get these offers, and no doubt you will get them from time to time.
As regards 2018 I use it on windows 10, but for quickness of the program loading, the GUI that I am familiar with, I still use ATI 2010 on windows 7.
So a perpetual licence may be the way to go for you, if you don't want to use cloud storage.

I'm with @joemardo1.
I buy every year. The idea of being locked into Acronis's own exponsive own-brand cloud is a joke. And it will not intregrate with rival clouds. (You don't have to be a genius to work round that though.)
Every year I say that I will not renew. And then a deal comes down the road that makes the per PC cost less than a subscription.
Acronis has an insane business model. But who am I to complain when I'm paying £7 per PC.
Just avoid the temptation to be an early adopter.
