Will not back up

Thread needs solution

I've had this program for a few years and was able to back up my NAS drive to another backup drive connected to my computer through a usb connection.  Until 6 months ago it goes through the backup process and at the calculating how long it will take to do a backup it takes like an hour before it spits out how many hours.  For example it show 8-9 hours to back up but 2 days later it still stuck at that point.  I uninstalled completely than a fresh install and still will not complete.  I even purchased true image 2021 and same thing keeps saying 8-9 hours or even it counts up to 12-13 hours etc.  I cannot find any help through acronis.  Does anybody have any recommendations.

I have never tried to backup by Synology NAS using ATI/ACPHO. What type of backup are you running; files and folders or disk and partitions. What file system is used by the NAS? Has there been an update to the NAS firmware recently (or about the time the problem started). Please confirm that the computer uses Windows (version and build) or MAC OS.

The ATI 2018 user guide provides the following information on supported file systems:

1.3.3 Supported file systems
 FAT16/32
 NTFS
 Ext2/Ext3/Ext4 *
 ReiserFS *
Note: ReiserFS partitions and disks cannot be backed up to Acronis Cloud.
 Linux SWAP *
* The Ext2/Ext3/Ext4, ReiserFS, and Linux SWAP file systems are supported only for disk or partition backup/recovery operations. You cannot use Acronis True Image 2018 for file-level operations with these file systems (file backup, recovery, search, as well as image mounting and file recovering from images). You also cannot perform backups to disks or partitions with these file systems.
If a file system is not supported or is corrupted, Acronis True Image 2018 can copy data using a sector-by-sector approach.

For ATI 2021 the following information is provided in the user guide:

1.4.3 Supported file systems
 NTFS
 Ext2/Ext3/Ext4
 ReiserFS(3) *
 Linux SWAP *
 HFS+**/HFSX**
 FAT16/32/exFAT **
* File systems are supported only for disk or partition backup/recovery operations.
** Disk recovery, partition recovery, and cloning operations are supported without resizing.
If a file system is not supported or is corrupted, Acronis True Image 2021 can copy data using a sector-by-sector approach.

I am trying to back up all my data from my western digital  nas drive, the file system uses NTFS, windows 10.  The problem started after an acronis true image update months ago I cannot remember when as there were a few more updates since then.  I am trying to backup my WD nas drive to another usb drive attached the nas drive.  I can access my drives no problem it is when I try to do a full back up and then incremental back ups it hangs after around 10-20%.  I am not trying to back up partitions or disks they are actual files.

Thanks for the additional information - unfortunately I am none the wiser. I have never used a WD NAS so I am unable to offer assistance - I recall that other users have had issues when using ATI with WD NAS but not the one that you are having. Hopefully someone else will be able to help out.

George, see KB 2954: Backing Up a NAS Unit - which may have some relevance here?

What do the logs for your backup task show for when the backup is attempted?

Have you tried setting up a new backup task to check that the problem is not the broken task?
