Will a recovery DVD created in True Image 2018 clone a XP PRO SP3 HDD?

Thread solved

I started journey with Acronis True Image 2014 then 2015 and to date 2018. All paid for via Cleverbridge. When Acronis I was at 2015 I created a Recovery Manager DVD to clone my XP PRO HDD. The PC runs a CNC software program which was written for XP PRO and is not happy with Win 7 or 10. The Recovery Manager DVD is getting a bit worn and scratched and I have tried to burn a copy, which I can. The problem is that the copy will not boot the XP PRO PC but goes to the HDD boot sequence and loads XP PRO.

I have created a DVD to clone my windows 7 HDDs with True Image. Will this work with my XP PRO machine?

I have not tried it yet for fear of killing my XP PRO disk.

Thank you

Ted, sign in to your Acronis Account and if you have registered your various versions of ATI in your account, you will see them listed there and be able to download a copy of the recovery media in .ISO CD image format to use to burn to a new CD.

I would suggest keeping with the older ATI version of the media just in case you have an older non-PAE processor in your XP PC.

What can I say. You walk on water sir. Thank you so much. I did not remember that my current / past Acronis True Image software are in my accounts the 2018, 2015 and the 2014 are there. Downloaded it, burn it to disk and my old XP PC boots with it and it loads the software to clone the drive. I have no idea how I created the old recovery disk. It must been the same way.

Thank you again

Kind regards

Ted
