Win file explorere can see my backups. But Acronis cannot

Thread needs solution

So have a win 10 with a C and a D (slave drive).

I had a full C drive backup on the D drive and also on a portable drive.

I booted into Acronis with a flash drive I had made before with Acronis.  That worked fine. But using acronis this way it could not see my backups.

So I had to reinstall win 10. Then install acronis 2018 on the PC.

Only then was I able to do a recovery. But had to do it from win 10 and then the full version of the acronis software.

Could not do a recovery with the boot up method since acronis would not reconize the backups that way.

Can someone make sense of this.

Thanks for any ideas.

Hello!

What bootable media did you use? What is the context? Did you restore to the same hardware or to a new machine?

I would advise you to create and use WinPE in this case:

Regarding the fact that Windows Explorer can see the backups and Acronis True Image can't, it's expected if the agent was re-installed. You need to re-add the backups manually: https://kb.acronis.com/content/60918

Best regards!

What size of drives do you have here and what file system is being used for those drive?

If you have a Legacy / MBR BIOS boot system then this only supports drives up to 2TB in size.
