Windows 11: Acronis Backup Archive Explorer / A driver cannot load on this device

Thread needs solution

When my Windows 11 system boots I get a small popup window that says Acronis Backup Archive Explorer / A driver cannot load on this device. Following the more information link leads to the Core Isolation page of my Settings (Security features available on your device that use virtualization-based security), on which is an on/off control for Memory Integrity (Prevents attacks from inserting malicious code into high-security processes). Memory Integrity is "On".

Why am I getting the popup? What functionality am I missing by not, apparently, having the Archive Explorer load? Can I get the Archive Explorer to load without disabling Memory Integrity?

Eric, welcome to these public User Forums.

There are known issues between Acronis True Image and Windows Core Isolation / Memory Integrity that are caused by device driver tib.sys and are not fixed in any current version of the software.

If all is working as you need at this time with Core Isolation enabled, then you are unlikely to see any missing functionality.

If you need / want to use the Acronis Try & Decide feature, then this requires tib.sys to be loaded which would then require Core Isolation to be disabled.

This issue has been reported many times in the forums.

Thanks for your prompt and thorough reply.

I suspected that the problem had been reported before, but my attempts to use the forum search turned up nothing. Can only keywords be searched for, not words in a subject or body of the query? If so, how do I guess appropriate keywords (I tried things like "explorer")? Easiest would probably be for me to be pointed at a bit of help text on doing searches.

Thanks for your time and patience.
