2019 TI clone

Thread needs solution

I recently attempted to clone a disk.  It is a secondary (non-boot) 5TB internal data drive and I was cloning it to an external drive via USB 3.0.  The computer is an old HP with an i5 processor and 8GB ram and the external drive is 8TB and USB 3.0

I used the cloning process.  No issues and it told me it had to reboot to start.  I rebooted and the process started up.  It has been running for the better part of 24 hours now and is not finished...?  The splash screen says "3 of 4 - Copying partition sector by sector" and that there are "28 seconds remaining"  These 28 seconds have lasted for about 12 hour now.  I think it is hung up but I cannot tell.  I have full cursor activity, can click the help"?" and get results, and I can cancel the process... which I have not done yet.

Is this normal?  It seems not but I am a first-time disk cloner.  With the disk size and low computing power, I fully expected it to take some time,  but this is crazy.  Any thoughts?

Raymond, welcome to these public User Forums.

Given how long the clone has been running, I would recommend leaving it longer to let it complete, especially given the 5TB disk size and that sector-by-sector mode is being used.

However, please see forum topic: [IMPORTANT] CLONING - How NOT to do this - for information on considerations when doing cloning.
