In 2019 would like to create a backup of 10 year old Vista PC and sunset the box

Thread needs solution

I currently have an additional license available Acronis True Image 2019. I run on Win10 for my current CPU to Cloud and NAS.  Not sure I need to use a license for this new task.

Is ACRONIS a tool I might use to create a backup (archive to NAS or Cloud) of a 10 year old Vista PC that I plan to sunset and not replace?

If yes, what approach would you suggest?  I read that ATI 2019 may not support VISTA.

Time for this old Dell -VISTA family computer to be sunset but some data may have value. Computer no longer being used by family member who may ask for something from it some day.  Would like to have an archive backup just in case.

Looking for simple solution.  Probably nothing of high value on the machine. Just thinking putting backup in the CLOUD might be prudent just in case.

Thanks,

Bill

Bill, rather than using your spare ATI 2019 license to make a backup image of your old Vista PC, I would recommend creating the Acronis bootable Rescue Media and using this to boot the Vista PC from, then make a backup offline in that way.

Given the age of the Vista PC, I would suggest using the Advanced option in the Acronis Rescue Media Builder tool, and then choosing to make the Linux version of the boot media, as this should be more compatible with that age of system, especially if it is also a 32-bit computer.
