Acronis 2019 notifications always got to Outlook Junk Mail

Thread needs solution

All my backup notifications get redirected to Outlook 2013 Junk Mail. I have issued a "Never Block Sender", and added acronis to the safe senders list, but the notifications always end up in the junk mail.

Is there any way I can prevent this?

Tim, welcome to these public User Forums.

I do not use Outlook (any version) for email so difficult to know what the options are for this situation.

Which backup notifications are you referring to here?
Those generated from the Acronis servers or those configured in the individual task Notifications options in the ATI GUI.

Hello Tim,

have you tried creating a rule for backup notifications to store them in a dedicated folder?

Dear Steve and Ekaterina.

I refer to notifications from backup jobs. I have the same problem with all jobs on all workstations.

I have only seen this problem since I rolled back from Acronis 2020 to 2019. My settings are attached below.

Ekaterina, I assume you mean create a rule on Outlook 2013. I would like to try this, but I'm not sure how to. Can you point me in the right direction?

Dear Steve and Ekatrina.

I just checked my inbox on Window 10 mail, and it has the same issue. I therefore conclude that this is not an Outlook issue.

Thanks

Tim.

Tim, the issue is probably not caused by either ATI or your Outlook client but rather in the way that your ISP is classifying these mails.

Personally I do use a message rule (in Mozilla Thunderbird client) that automatically puts these notifications messages in my Deleted items folder then I just do a quick review of this before using an option to empty deleted.

See webpage: How to use Outlook rules to easily organize your inbox for help on that aspect.

Hi Steve and Ekatrina.

You were right Steve. I changed my notification settings to send to my gmail account, and it worked correctly.

Although not perfect, it's way better than having notifications and warnings end up in my junk folder where I'm likely to miss them until I check junk later.

Many thanks for your assistance.

Tim.

The problem could also be caused by a third part spam filter; I get this occasionally caused by Norton 365.

I do not recall if I have had this problem in the past, but if so it was fixed by adding the sending email address/domain to my exclusions listing. That was many years ago.

If you have multiple email addresses you need to do it for each one as an when it happens. I had this this morning with notification about registration to the 2021 beta program for a new account with and ISP that I had not previously used.
