ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE 2019 BOOTABLE ERROR

Thread needs solution

The bootable media for 2019 does not work.  I have 2 exactly identical PCs. I cloned both at the same time using ATI 2014 & ATI 2019.  ATI 2014 took 12 minutes from beginning to end and successfully cloned the drive.  ATI 2019 had not started after 1 hour 12 minutes.  I stopped 2019, and successfully cloned using ATI 2014, again in 12 minutes.  From my perspective, this "upgrade" has some bugs in it.

Lee, please confirm what build # you have for ATI 2019 - you need to be using Rescue Media created from ATI 2019 build 14110 as there were issues with the media from earlier builds.

The build is shown on the Account page in the ATI 2019 GUI.

Lee, thanks for confirming the build.  Next question, did you create the rescue media from this build or did you download an ISO image of the media to use?

Finally, see KB 61665: Acronis True Image 2019: Active Cloning in Windows - for a new method of cloning introduced in ATI 2018 & later which uses the Microsoft VSS snapshot method for cloning, instead of just using VSS for Backups.
Note: when using Active Cloning, it is best to clean the target drive before starting as otherwise ATI may require a reboot if an OS partition is detected on the drive.

Thanks again, Steve.  Yes, installed 2019 14110 yesterday, made the Linux boot media from that.  Unfortunately, for my purposes, I have to use the bootable media.  I will wait to see if there is an update to fix this.  I have the 2013, 2014, 2016, etc. bootable disks that work great.  So no urgent need for 2019 to work.

Lee, I would recommend opening a Support Case with Acronis Support for this issue if you are able to reproduce the issue with cloning every time but all is fine with media from earlier versions.  I normally using their email support method for my cases to save being tied up on an internet chat, especially when you will be demonstrating a problem where you are booting from the rescue media.
