Acronis True Image: Deleting old .tib files

Thread needs solution

I have True image 2019 and have old backup files which do not appear on the list presented when I open Acronis True Image. If I go to my backup folder I find that they are still there taking valuable space on my external disk. Trying to delete them via explorer results in a message telling me to use administration rights in spite of the fact that I am registered as administrator. I have successfully changed access the permissions to full control but this did not help. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Is there a way to remap these old files so they appear listed in Acronis. This might make them easier to delete.

Hello John,

Thank you for getting in touch.

To delete it, you need to manually add the backup in the console and then delete it from there.

Here is the Knowledge Base article with instructions on how to add the backup in the console: https://kb.acronis.com/content/60918.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions.

Best regards.
