Adding External HD to current backup scheme

Thread needs solution

I'm currently using a dedicated external hard drive to backup certain folders & files from other hard drives. By dedicated, I mean that it's only used for a backup target drive and nothing else. Let's call it Drive #1. Drive #1 is getting full. I want to add another drive - Drive #2. I use the "Incremental" method.

What's the best way to get Acronis 2019 to continue its normal backup operations, but only this time to Drive #2 without interrupting the current backup scheme? Do I simply change the target drive to Drive #2? Is it that simple? I don't want to create a new initial backup, but simply continue the Incremental method with the new Drive #2.

Should I create an entirely new backup and use Drive #2 as the target? Will the new Drive #2 backup pickup where the Drive #1 backup left off??

Thanks in advance...

There is no way you can continue the backup on a second drive and have it integrated with the first. You need to create a new backup task. The easiest way to do this would be clone the backup task then edit it it so that it backs up to the new drive. I am using my iPad the moment so cannot give comprehensive instructions.
