ATIH - backup/restore files from a list of files

Thread needs solution

Maybe a developer should see this.

Is there a way of backing up files from a list of files?  Or put another way, would creating a folder consisting of links work?  (Is there an option to backup files by traversing only soft links to these files in a folder?)   Semantically this is saying the same thing, although it would be useful for such a functionality to exist natively within ATIH.

With hundreds of files in disparate locations on 20TB of disks, it would be impossibly tedious to select them all and then save this as a backup job.

My case is that I can create a list of these files, all of whom have a common text in the name field.

I could copy all of the files to common location or structure from which they could be selected, but it is not practical, nor desirable, to do so, nor to reorganize the location of these files to enable a simpler selection process.  Retaining the configuration management of location is cruial.

Just as an FYI, the total size of this collection is 21GB.

Santiago, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry but there is no provision for doing as you have asked in this topic.  The current ATI application only provides a method of Excluding files & folders, but no method of Including Files & Folders by way of a file mask and wildcard characters.

I would recommend submitting Feedback direct to Acronis using the tool provided within the ATI GUI (if you already have the product), or else via the following web page link.

There will also be an opportunity for users to participate in the upcoming ATI 2020 Beta testing program and give feedback via that process.  No date has been published for the Beta yet but it is due very soon and will be announced in the Acronis Forums.
