Backed up Drive - now bios doesn't show the drive so I can't select it as my boot drive

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have a 2 drive configuration and in the past when an issue occurred with drive 1 I would just go into my uefi bios and change the boot drive to the 2nd drive that I've used as my backup full clone drive.  This time I need it, the last backup said it was successful, and now my bios won't show the 2nd m.2 drive as a selectable option to change to my primary boot device.

Thoughts?

thanks,

Neil

Neil, are you sure that you are using the correct terminology here?

Any Backup created by Acronis is never bootable as is an archive container file (.tib or .tibx).

If you have UEFI BIOS, then you are also looking at selecting the correct copy of the Windows Boot Manager when switching to another boot drive, not selecting the drive itself.

In Legacy / MBR boot systems, you would select the actual drive as the boot device, but that changes with UEFI / GPT boot systems to being the 'Windows Boot Manager' instead.
