Backup not working anymore

Thread solved

Hi,

I am not able to get my backup running again after upgrading my True Image 2018 to the latest version. I tried to backup a single directory for test and always receive a message that the data stream could not be opened (see attached jpeg). I have tried different backup destinations (external HD, local disk) but without success.

Any idea what might go wrong here?

Thx.

Holger, welcome to these public User Forums.

Please try reselecting the Source & Destination locations for your existing backup tasks if you have not already done so.

If the above has not helped, then try doing a Repair Install of ATI 2019 - this is done by reinstalling the latest build 17750 Installer over the top of your current software without uninstalling - you will see options to either Repair or Uninstall - take the Repair option.

Again, if this does not help, then open the Settings page of the ATI GUI, and use the option provided at the bottom of the page to Save your configuration settings to a zip file, then do a full reinstall of ATI 2019.  Uninstall the current program normally, run the Acronis Cleanup tool (link below) then reinstall ATI again and import your configuration settings back from the zip file.

Note: ATI should be run from an Administrator account for all the above actions.

Hi Steve,

thank you for your feedback. I have already tried suggestions #1 and #2, but without success. Now I am deinstalling ATI. Please note that I have upgraded to the latest 2018 build. Thus I am following your suggestions using the 2018 build provided on the Acronis web page.

This all looks very strange to me since I started using ATI with the 2015 version which I have upgraded later to the 2018 version. I am just looking for a reliable backup system for my photos and some key data. Nothing fancy I would say...

Thx Holger

Hi Steve,

a complete re-install of ATI 2018 following your described steps has solved the issue. I was able to run a successful backup again :-)

Thank you very much for your support.
