Backup pc to image, and restore to new harddrive

Thread needs solution

Hello!

I am New to Acronis, so maybee it is wrong forum, but my question is; how can I take a image backup to a file, save the file to either cloud or a nas, and later restore the image back to the computer. Either With a New disk or the old one, and the system will restart normaly!

I am using Windows, and want to have a backup to use both if the harddrive get dead/corrupted or my files is gone by a virus attach!

Regards

Kåre!

Kare,

When you setup a backup, you pick the source (your main hard drive disk) and the destination.  The destination can be a NAS share, external USB drive, another internal disk, or the Cloud.  Each backup task you create has one destination and you get to decide which to use.  In my own solution, I backup my PC using different tasks:  one to a NAS share, one to a different internal storage drive and one to the cloud that just has my user data).

With your backup, you can restore the entire hard drive (a full disk recovery), or you can recover just files/folders from it.  This can be done through the Acronis application GUI, by double clicking on a backup .tib (this is the true image backup file extension Acronis uses) in Windows file explorer to copy/paste files/folders out of (only works for data - not a full system recovery this way), or your bootable rescue media (in the event Windows can't restore to get to the True Image Application).
