Backups not on designated schedule, often saved as multiple files

Thread needs solution

Hi!  Running Acronis True Image 2019 perpetual license on a Microsoft Surface with Windows 10 Pro, backing up to a Synology NAS with two 4TB drives.  I use a custom scheme: Incremental backup method with a full version created after every 6 incremental versions.  In advanced settings, boxes are checked to prevent the PC from sleeping/hibernating and to run missed operations at system startup with 0 delay.

Over the last year (or longer) I have noticed that the backups no longer run at the designated time, and often each backup is broken up into multiple files.  For example, this morning an incremental backup should have been created at 2:22 AM.  Instead, I have five files (backupfilename_v1.tib through backupfilename_v5.tib).  This likely coincided with me logging on the machine, so I'm guessing that this may be connected to the pc sleeping even thoguh it shouldn't?

Any help to get this back to a single backup file created at the specified time would be very much appreciated!  I'm happy to provide any additional information required to troubleshoot this.

I would suggest trying to setup a new backup task to your Synology NAS using the same Source selection as the problem task but going to a different destination folder on the NAS to see if this works correctly in generating a single file per each execution or not?

Note: turn off the schedule for the problem task to avoid both wanting to run.

If the new task works correctly, then it is possible that something in the configuration for the problem task has got corrupted to give the behaviour you are seeing.  In that case continue with the new task until you have confidence it is going fine then look at deleting the problem task and associated older backup files.

If the new task gives the same issues with scheduling and files created, then there may be a problem with the ATI 2019 application itself or else there may be a space issue on the NAS that are contributing to multiple files being created.

Try doing a Repair Install of ATI 2019 using the latest build #18100 - see KB 60915: Acronis True Image: repairing program settings - for details.

Note: I have been running my own regular backups to my Synology NAS for many years using a mix of different versions of ATI and have not seen any similar issues.
