Bootable media does not find NIC

Thread needs solution

Hey,

I have some purchased licenses of 2012 and 2013 - network support is not too good - so I decided to try 2019 and if it is good, I'll buy it.

2019 does not find the NIC on the IT guy laptop.

It is: VEN_10EC&DEV_8136

Thanks

Elior

Elior, welcome to these public User Forums.

What type of network adapter is involved here?  Most Ethernet wired network adapters should be found ok, but none of the Acronis Rescue Media has good support for wireless adapters.

The type of Rescue Media being created can also affect the support for network adapters - the older ATI products all used a Linux based media, but with ATI 2018 & later, Acronis is moving away from the Linux media and will attempt to create WinPE media based on either the Windows Recovery Environment or on an installed Windows ADK.

With WinPE media it is possible to inject additional device drivers, or you could use the MVP Custom ATIPE Builder script (link below) which can copy drivers from your Windows OS and inject these into the custom rescue media.

Hi

Sorry for late reply

I work with Elior ...

When i using acronis as a Linux usb key it detects the network cards . but i cant access to share folder .The message : Authentication settings : Connection failed. Please verify user name and password.

All the configuration of sharing is correct.

When I try to make a simple or advanced usb key then WINPE. then the network card isn't appears.

Thanks,

Ofer

Ofer, you will probably need to add the device drivers for your network card to the USB media - you can do this with the Advanced method for the media builder tool as described in KB 61632: Acronis True Image 2019: how to create bootable media - or else use the MVP Custom ATIPE Builder script which can capture the installed drivers from your computer if it has the same NIC installed - see link in my signature.

Steve, But if I need to do backups to several computers and any pc has a different type of network card?

Ofer, you would need to test the rescue media on your other computers to see if additional device drivers would be needed.
