Bootable Media - how to change keyboard language?
My downloaded an CD-burned boot media starts in English. That creates a problem when using my German keyboard. According to the info at the right lower corner of the screen the bootable media True Image advises crtl+shift to change languages. Unfortunately nothing happens when entering ctrl-shift.
Can I I somehow download an ISO-Image which starts in German?
How can I really change the language?

Hi Steve,
thanks for the reply.
How do I know which language version of the ISO image I am downloading? In my opinion I have downloaded it from the German version of the Acronis website. There is no hint whatsoever, what the language of the ISO image is when downloading.

Franz, the only indication of language selection that I can see is as shown in the screen shot below but this looks to be only for the Installation media.

Hi Steve,
I opened the German language Acronis website, downloaded again, the ISO-Image has exactly the same size as last time, I burned it on an RW-CD and booted. When moving the cursor over en EN language symbol in the right bottom corner, the suggestion to enter ctrl-shift pops up. But when doing so, nothing happens. I remember from prevoius versions that this worked on the boot-CDs. Has anybody succeeded to change the language of the bootable CD system by entering ctrl-shift?
The main problem is entering backslashs, which are positioned on different keys..

Franz, sorry but am out of ideas on this one. I haven't used the download ISO version of the rescue media for some years now and have no problems with language / keyboard settings with any of the WinPE rescue media that I do use.
I suspect that the Linux ISO version of rescue media may disappear at some point as Acronis are moving away from using it and not updating it for some newer hardware devices etc. The WinPE media is much more flexible and will pick up the correct language & keyboard from the installed Windows OS during creation.
My preferred media is that created by the MVP Custom ATI PE builder script, which uses my own local English GB language and keyboard layout (as opposed to US English), plus gives me a web browser, file manager, PDF reader, screen capture etc, along with ATI, AUR and Disk Director all on the same USB stick or boot media.

Hi Franz,
did you somehow solve the issue? I'm facing the same problems. I'm using the CD that has been shipped to me with the german version of Acronis but pressing CTRL+SHIFT (as stated in the hint when hovering over the EN-sign in the bottom right edge) does not do anything.

Hallo Thorben Opfermann,
