Cannot remove a backup listed in the Online Dashboard

Thread needs solution

I have my two good backups listed in Acronis TI on my PC. But in my Online Dashboard I have three backups listed. The third one is a one-off backup I did months ago. I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove this dead one. Whenever I click on anything to do with the one I need to remove, it just greys out and I get a spinning circle that never ends.

Mark, the computer that created the backup shown in the dashboard needs to be offline for some actions to be available in the online page, if I remember correctly.

Also, check if the Acronis Managed Machine Mini Service is active / running on your computer as this is used to communicate with the dashboard.

FWIW I have a similar-but-different issue with an incomplete backup, one that I started and then cancelled after 500MB of uploading: when I click on the gear icon and select Remove, I see "Loading..." for a minute or so and then an error dialog, which says "The operation cannot be completed, the selected computer is currently in use. Please try again later." I did try Remove-ing it from a different computer, after shutting the source machine down completely, to the same error.

Steve I see nothing remotely similar to a "Managed Machine Mini Service" in Processes or Services--what is that? I can see a Backup WOrker, Acronis Schedule Service Helper, Acronis TIB Mounter Monitor, and two ATI 2019 processes but that's it.

Tom, you need to look at the Services tab in Windows Task Manager to see the MMMS service and click on the link for Services shown at the bottom to open the Services control panel where you can control how the services run etc.

If you cannot resolve the issue with the cancelled Cloud backup, then raise this direct with Acronis who should be able to do things from their end of the link.

Bah, I looked for it again and there it is Steve. It's running.

I had actually started a Trial membership to Cloud, discovered that my ISP(s) are not adequate to Upload (days to complete), and let the Trial run-out. So now it looks like my backup will be auto-deleted by Acronis and I'll just wait and see.

I had posted here in the spirit of "maybe my issue will tickle something with the OP" but he has not been back. Anyway thanks for your input here.

My problems had its origins in an early version of 2019, that started to list all my local backups in the online dashboard.  I have never run any cloud backups and have never had a subscription for it. 2019 just started listing all the local jobs, let me run the jobs remotely and allowed me to enable email notifications for the local jobs from the Online Dashboard.

Initially I thought that this was an intended feature, so that local backups could benefit from the online email notification system.  But more recently I have begun to suspect that this was just a glitch, because the new 2020 version does not list any local backups in the Online Dashboard and email notifications stopped working.

My problem mentioned in the initial post was fixed by upgrading to ATI 2020 (Perpetual, not cloud subscription), then logging out of the Online Dashboard and also logged out of Acronis 2020 software.  Then I logged back into both and found that the Online Dashboard was completely clear.  No jobs listed at all.  Not even my two local backups that had previously been listed and could be Run remotely from the Dashboard.

At least the dead backup job that I wanted to remove from the Online Dashboard list is gone now.  I have setup my backup email notifications inside the local backup job again, so the fact that the Online Dashboard no longer works for me is of no consequence.

That is very interesting Mark, thanks for posting-back!
