Can't Create Rescue Media

Thread needs solution

I am running ATI 2019 on a Windows 7 Pro OS.

When I try to create "SIMPLE" rescue media on a DVD or a USB flash drive I get the attached error messages. Message 2022-08-27 is when I try to create a DVD rescue disk and Message 2022-08-29 is when I try to create a USB rescue disk.

I have a ATI 2019 DVD rescue disk that i created several years ago on the same computer.Several weeks ago I installed ATI 2019 version 18100.

How can I create rescue media for my computer?

Ronald, some comments:

First, please ensure that you are doing this from an Administrator account so that all the required authorities / privileges are given to the rescue media builder application.

Note: ATI 2019 (and all other versions) should always be installed as Administrator for the same reason.

Next, please ensure that you have white-listed Acronis to any security applications installed on your computer.

See the following KB documents related to this aspect:

KB 36429: Acronis Software: exclude program folders and executables from antivirus and other security programs

KB 46430: Acronis Software: Making Acronis Products Compatible with Antivirus Software

Finally, if you still have an issue, then consider trying the new Rescue Media builder feature of the MVP Assistant tool which can be downloaded from MVP Assistant - New 2.0 with Rescue Media Builder (New Version 2.1.1)

Hi, Steve,

I followed Norton's instructions for excluding files/folders from "Scans and Risks" and I excluded the folders indicated in KB 36429. Got the same error messages as I uploaded before.

Downloaded the MVP Assistant Media Builder, but it is only for Windows 10 or 11 and the instructions were over my head.

So how can I create an ATI 2019 Boot disk for Windows 7 Pro?

Ron, try the MVP Custom PE Builder tool instead of the MVP Assistant - there is a link in my signature for this but the latest / final version of that older tool can be downloaded here direct from the author Paul's site.

The downloaded zip file should be extracted to a folder in the root of a drive then the main executable run as Administrator, after which follow the prompts in the dialogue panel shown.

Hi, Steve:

When I try to run MVP_ATIPEBuilder.exe Norton 360 removes the file. See attached error message. What should I do to be able to safely run PE Builder?

Ron, you either will need to suspend Norton or whitelist the MVP_ATIPEBuilder.exe to allow it to run.  It does not include any malware and is being picked up only because Autoruns was used in its creation.
