Cloning a 1TB SATA Hard Drive with Acronis True Image

Thread needs solution

I just cloned a 1TB SATA Hard Drive to a 500GB SSD without any glitch in 10 minutes using Acronis True Image. I was so surprised that there was no glitch. Previously I had issues cloning hard drives with other software.

Kudos to Acronis

Roger, welcome to these public User Forums.

Always great to read of success, so thank you for sharing!

Thanks Steve. I am very happy with Acronis True Image software. I told my son to make sure he buys a SSD that provides the Acronis software.

Can I share my software with him or is it limited to the pc where it was originally installed?

Roger, the answer really depends on the license agreement for the software you have bought and the number of PC's this allows you to install it on.

If you received a copy of Acronis True Image for free along with your new SSD drive, then you may need to check on the license for the OEM company that provided the software.  Free versions of ATI are classed as being OEM products and supported by the OEM vendor, as described in KB 2201: Support for OEM Versions of Acronis Products
